What Data Is Collected?
The plain-English version, written for end users.
What we collect from you
When you answer a pulse, we receive:
- Your answers — yes/no, time-saved bucket, areas helped, satisfaction rating, free-text comment if you leave one
- Which tool the pulse was about (e.g. ChatGPT)
- When you answered
- Your user ID — so the response shows up in your dashboard, and your team lead can see it as part of your team's data
When you sign up (or are invited):
- Your email and name
- Your role (Member, in your case) and any groups you've been added to
- Your time zone
- Your sign-in tokens (handled by Clerk, not stored as passwords by us)
That's it. We don't ask for your phone number, address, date of birth, or any other personal information.
What the Chrome extension can — and can't — see
The extension is allowed to:
- Know which AI-tool websites you're visiting (so it can pop up the pulse at the right moment)
- Save your assigned tools locally so it works offline
- Schedule when the next pulse can fire
It is deliberately not allowed to:
- Read or send the content of any page you visit. Your prompts to ChatGPT, your conversations with Claude, the code you ask Copilot to write — none of it leaves your browser. We don't see it.
- Touch sites that aren't on your company's tool list.
- See your other browser tabs, history, or bookmarks.
- Store any of your AI-tool passwords or login info.
In short: the extension knows that you're on ChatGPT, not what you're doing on ChatGPT.
What your company supplies (you don't)
Your admin team enters things like the tools you have access to and what each costs the company per seat. You don't need to tell us anything about that — they handle it.
How your data is used
Three uses, in order of frequency:
- Showing your dashboard to you — your own hours-saved, the tools you've rated, your past pulses
- Aggregating to spot patterns — which tools are working across the company, where wasted spend is, where training would help
- Showing your team lead and admins what's happening on their side of the platform — see Who sees my answers?
We do not use your data to:
- Train AI models (ours or anyone else's)
- Sell to third parties
- Build a profile of you for advertising
- Combine with other companies' data
- Anything outside of giving your company a clearer picture of its AI program
Where the data lives
The platform stores everything in a database hosted on AWS, in Sydney, Australia. Encrypted in transit and at rest. Standard enterprise-grade hosting setup.
Removing your data
You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time. The simplest way is to ask your admin (they can deactivate your account, which stops new data and frees up your seat). If you want everything historical erased too, request deletion via your admin or contact The GAiGE support directly. We hard-delete within 30 days; backups age out within a further 30 days.
If you leave the company, your account is typically deactivated by your admin as part of normal offboarding.
